Angels in Our Midst
Angels often In our midst Their wings are love That gives us life
They come Often in forms rejected Their minds and heart Pure Acceptance
They see the yellow Of the sun They see the blue Of the ocean Seeing only love in the eyes Of hatred They have no notion Pure as children They are not burdens Their strength in joy As an oxen’s yoke Lifts apprehensions
Selfish people Want them destroyed Death in the womb Creates a void
Without their presence We will not see We will miss The forest and the trees
Selfish love A form of evil Destroying souls No longer people
People learn To perservere Through love and hope No more fear
The handicapped child Not a weight intense A gift of life It’s heaven sent -Miguel Perez-Santalla
I have been around many handicapped people. In all cases I have drawn inspiration from their struggles and the joy they bring to my life.
I cannot imagine a world of only perfect people. We would have a miserable selfish existence that would destroy the beauty of self-giving that is often brought about by their existence in this world. When a person gives often the rewards are greater than we can ever foresee.
I am bringing back more of my inspirational writing due to popular demand. I hope that my return to this foray is not an insult to the professional writer and more than anything else that I can make my readers smile and touch their hearts. I have myself felt a void after having taken a hiatus from this part of my writing career. Recently I realized that if I reject this part of me then other side of my writing also loses the ability to create.
